Creating a Playlist

What is a Playlist?

A playlist is a filtered subset of recordings within an Arbimon project. Creating playlists helps query and manage your data and will allow you to run analyses. You can create playlists that are filtered by sites, times of day, days of the year, species, or tags. For example, if you were interested in nocturnal species, you could create a playlist that only had night-time recordings. Or if you tagged all the recordings that you couldn’t identify the species in with ‘doubt’, you can create a playlist of all your doubt recordings.

Steps to Create a Playlist

1. In the project menu, click Explore, then Playlists. In the Playlists page, click New Playlist. Alternatively, you can also go directly to the Explore→Recordings page.

2. On the Recordings page, click Filters.

3. Select among the different filter options (e.g. sites, dates, times of day, species validations, etc.) and then select Apply Filters.

4. You will see that the number of recordings has changed as a result of your filters. After your have filtered the recordings you want, click Save to Playlist.

5. Assign a name to the playlist and then click Save & Close.

You can also export the list of filtered recordings in the playlist as an Excel spreadsheet by clicking Export and choosing the export setting and groupings you want (see below).

A pop-up will ask for the email that you want the export sheet to be sent to. Put in the email and click Export & Close. Then, check your email to download the export sheet.
