Managing Training Sets
What is an RFM Training Set?
The training set for RFM consists of two components:
- a training set pattern (call template)
- at least 50 presence and 50 absence species validations
Creating a training set allows you to add a Region of Interest (ROI) which is used by the model to create a training set pattern (also called a template).
How to View Your Training Sets
1. Go to the project menu and click Audio analyses then Random Forest Model. Select the ‘Training Sets’ tab.
2. Click on one of the training sets to see the training set template/ROI and counts of the present and absent validations. The selected ROIs should have similar acoustic properties (e.g. shape, bandwidth, duration). If you hover over the ROI thumbnails you can see information on its acoustic properties.
3. Click the Magnifying glass icon to zoom into the ROI. To get back to ‘Gallery view’, click on the Grid icon to the right of the magnifying glass.
4. ROIs can be removed by clicking the X icon (top right corner of thumbnail).
5. You can download the acoustic properties of the ROI’s as a spreadsheet by clicking on the Download icon.
This will download a spreadsheet that looks like this.
7. The training set name can be edited or deleted by clicking on the edit or delete icons here
